At PokerWomenNews – we have high hopes for the women poker players at this years World Series of Poker. In fact, we went all in and predicted, that female poker players would win four bracelets in open events this summer! Yes, four bracelets.
Every week of the WSOP, I intend to take a look at the results so far. Bracelet wins. Final tables. Deep runs. Here are the highlights from week three and four.
The return of the “Old Timers” has been the theme at the WSOP this year as highlighted in a PokerNews’ post. But in fact it’s not only the “Old School Poker Players”, who have dominated the felt, it’s literally the seniors too – at least speaking about women going deep in week three and four.
In the $1,000 Seniors Championship, that attracted more than 5,300 runners, Gina Bacon finished in 6th place for $118,923, and in the $1,000 Super Seniors No Limit Hold’em Veronica Daly was just three players away from winning a gold bracelet. Daly took home $84,005 for her 4th place finish.
Kristen Bicknell Close to #3
Two-time bracelet winner Kristen Bicknell was eying her third bracelet when she made the final table of the prestigious $10,000 6-Max NLH Championship. The event attracted the best players in the world, and 332 runners ponied up the $10k buy in. Bicknell began the final table as the short stack and even though she was able to double up, she was eliminated in 6th place for a $96,823 payday.
6th for $96,823! Not my best showing, but a fun run. So exhausted! Will get back to messages asap, so grateful for kind words all!
